INDUCTION READY COOKWARE

Induction cookers are one of the newest trends in kitchens, combining energy-efficiency with cooking control that rivals professional gas cookers. Cookware with a magnetic base is required to transfer the heat to the food or liquid inside. Meyer offers a selection of induction-ready cookware that meets the requirements of this forward-thinking technology. For more information, please refer to the Products section.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS – INDUCTION READY COOKWARE

“Will any of your cookware work with an induction cooker?”
Not all cookware brands are compatible with induction cookers. To check if your existing pan is suitable, use a magnet: if it sticks to the base of the pan, the pan can be used on an induction cooker. When purchasing cookware specifically for induction cookers, look out for the induction-ready symbol:

You will find this symbol on all of Meyer’s packaging (when the product is compatible). In addition, selected gourmet ranges may have this symbol conveniently stamped on the base of the pan.

“Do all pans with a magnetic base work equally well on an induction cooker?”
When placed on an induction cooker, pans with a magnetic base generate direct heat that is transferred by conduction to heat the entire cooking surface.

Pans that are strongly magnetic, such as cast iron and stainless steel that are specifically designed for use on induction cookers, are preferable to those that are only weakly magnetic, as the latter tend to have poor heat dispersion and can burn food.

All Meyer induction-ready cookware is made of a specially-engineered stainless steel alloy of sufficient thickness to readily absorb the available electromagnetic energy and convert it to heat.
